C Lineman - Transmission
oWork safely while performing new construction, maintenance or repair work of energized and de-energized transmission work.
oStringing overhead wire.
oSetting poles and anchors.
oFrequently works with energized high voltage systems requiring skill and care to protect the lives of themselves and others.
oMaintains company vehicles, equipment and tools in good working order.
oDoes all other related work as required to complete the job.
oMust be able to work outside, frequently in inclement weather.
oAble to perform rigorous physical labor.
oCapable of learning transmission voltages on a circuit.
oMust be familiar with induced voltage.
oCapable of safely setting a pole.
oCapable of learning to understand and read blueprints.
oCapable of assisting with inspecting and recognizing structural problems.
oAble to work productively from an aerial device.
oCapable of assisting in troubleshooting.
oAble to work alone on de-energized lines.
oCapable of obtaining knowledge of wire stringing techniques.
oCapable of learning and understanding how to sag wire from structure or bucket.
oAble to assist with assembly and erect towers to all heights.
oAble to assist with working from an aerial ladder to catch off and clip in.
oAble to assist in framing and setting most basic line structures.
oAble to assist in framing a de-energized pole structure in the air.
oAble to assist with installing all types of compression connections.
oCapable of working at heights and/or confined spaces.
oCapable of properly installing and removing PPE and cover up.
oCapable of properly inspecting rubber goods, covers and PPE.
oMust be able to climb different types of structures (wood, steel, etc.) and possess the necessary tools to do so.
oUnderstands how to tie various lineman knots.
oCapable of making up and using a hand line.
oUnderstands grounding procedures.
oUnderstands proper equipment set-up and grounding procedures.
oUnderstands how and when to use Kellum grips.
oAble to identify different types of materials used in line work.
oUnderstands minimum approach distance.
oUnderstands flag and tag procedures.
oCapable of performing basic bucket rescue/escape.
o1-year minimum of field experience.
oAble to read and communicate effectively in English.
oAble to obtain a Commercial Driver's License permit within 60 days of employment.
oA Commercial Driver's License is preferred.
oAble to travel long distances on short notice, when required.
oAble to work for extended periods in various locations, when required.
oAble to lift in excess of 50 lbs.
oAble to properly inspect rubber goods and PPE.
oWilling to work over-time when requested.
oWillingness to glove/work live high voltage transmission lines.

The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. This position is performed in outside weather conditions.
